01. What is CMC 9717?
CMC 9717 is a creative partnership between Dominion and Gambeat, who formed this project at the end of 1996, now rumoured to occur on New Year’s Day 1997, which is untrue, as Dominion slept at that moment…
02. What does CMC 9717 stands for?
It’s not an acronym. Basicly, it is a licence number of Marek Hojda’s car. Not being able to come to terms with their different ideas for their band name, they decided to go for a compromise and look for something which is unifying their actions (ie making music)…
03. Who is Marek Hojda?
You might have seen him on Polsat as one of Wszystkie Marki Swiata. He is a friend of theirs, educated musician, who needs good remixers now…
04. How did they meet together?
It’s a long story, but omitting all unnecessary issues, Gambeat phoned Dominion at the end of April’95 and so they met few days later, on 1st of May. Appareantly, they’ve started their partnership a year later.
05. What was their first song?
The „Project 001″ came out of a simple bassline idea by Gambeat, later developed by Dominion. Unfortunatly, they still need to find the proper title and lirycs for that song…
06. What happened on 14.02.96?
Dominion came to Gambeat’s HQ with his Alesis reverb processor and they started sampling guitar riffs. Unfortunately, as they were just about to create some outstanding fxs, Dorota appeared, interuppting this interesting sampling session…
07. Who is Dorota?
A friend of theirs. Actually, it is her, who met them together, although they try to avoid any contacts with that woman, as she’s a pain in the ass…
08. What happened on 29.02.96?
Gambeat met Marek Hojda.
09. What happened on 02.03.96?
Gambeat and Dominion payed Dorota a visit. Few hours later, they’ve managed to escape, just after they’ve met Slawek…

Dorota informed Dominion and GamBeat about some musical show at Elektoralna club. There, they had some laught watching Abu Dali, Kapel band and Leszekplaying „Everybody In the Place” cover version…

13. What happened on 22.03.96?
Dominion and GamBeat plus Kuba and Maciek hired Chorus studio for two hours and jammed a punk version of Fanatic’s „Czarownica”.
14. Who are Kuba and Maciek?
Friends of theirs, although Kuba is a slight exception here…
15. What happened on 28.03.96?
Dominion and GamBeat went to the music store and illegally sampled Yamaha QS-300.
16. What happened on 13.04.96?
Jam session occured at Dominion’s Tranceptal HQ. That was the day, when they programmed that notorious „Project 001″ bassline.
17. What happened on 19.04.96?
CMC 9717, then as Jezdzcy Apokalipsy, performed a trash version of Dominion’s „Apokalipsa”. Recording of this event is planned to be released at some point in the future…
18. What happened on 20.04.96?
The next day after the Chorus session, Dominion and GamBeat left the PDI center and went to Fontanna Di Trevi. Unfortunatly, DJ Takagi’s musical selection wasn’t very convincing to our boys, so they took off to The Old Town. There they’ve visited the infamous Camel Club, checked SDK center, seen some interesting police arrest and have been followed by a street’s washing machine. Dominion taped that all on his portable dictaphone, so expect it being released as an ambient album someday…
19. What happened on 14.05.96?
Dominion and GamBeat went to Radosc and payed a visit to WPS HQ.
20. What is WPS?
Warsaw Personnel Service is a French company which specialises in finding erm, personnel. They used to work for them in the summer of’96, but more about it in question 28.
21. What happened on 23.05.96?
GamBeat and Dominion were (as usually) attending thursday’s meeting at Lowicka, when a guy from Papryka studio offered them a casting for a radio ad. GamBeat was rejected immediately, when he failed to pronounce „r” properly, while Dominion passed succesfully. Unfortunatly, Sony VIPs wanted somebody sounding radio-friendly, so nothing came out of that. In the end, Dominion was offered a job as a sound engineer, but it also clampsed…
22. What happened on 30.05.96?
Marek Hojda and Jacek Bukowski decided to have a „show” on Lowicka, so they organized few acts and performances. Dominion prepared a 15-minute version of „Project 001″ and it was deemed a strange success…
23. Who is Jacek Bukowski?
Don’t ask.
24. What happened on 05.06.96?
Dominion, Gambeat, Mechu and guest guitarist went to play at Vod studio. There, they’ve performed a funky version of „Project 001″.
25. Who is Mechu?
He is their guitarist and chief engineer. Mechu is responsible for constructing some of the infamous fx processors, like MECH-1 Overdrive, and some dodgy EQ, which looked like Farelka…
26. What happened on 08.06.96?
Dominion was about to play live at TVP2 studio. Unfortunatly, his equipment went bananas, so the world missed that exclusive performance of „Dancing at Tranceptal Worlds”.
27. What happened on 28.06.96?
Dominion bought the infamous Air Horn and wanted to record it. So, our boys went to the quiet park place, where they incidently interrupted few people’s after-dinner nap.
28. What happened on 18.07.96?
Dominion went with the crew to film scenes to „Spellbinder 2″ movie. There he met Lady K, CMC 9717′s spokeswoman and manager. Later that year she and Dominion formed IHS DMNC. More about it in question 33.
29. What happened on 27.07.96?
Gambeat and Dominion jammed at Tranceptal and recorded „Hibernacja” track. Then they took off to Vod studio to record some of Gambeat’s drumming, while Dominion maned the controls.
30. What happened on 29.07.96?
Gambeat joined Dominion at WPS Central, a place where they’ve invented Wszystkie Grajki Swiata project and written „Wydaj Nas (Pazernosc)”.
31. What was Wszystkie Grajki Swiata project about?
After seeing a video to WMS’s „Caluj Mnie”, Dominion and Gambeat decided to record and film a parody of that. They have written silly lirycs and recorded the music. As for the video, they planned to film it at one of the beaches in Warsaw as a substitute of sea location used in the original WMS video. Dominion was about to replace Marek Hojda character, while Gambeat was to play Marek Sierocki. Lady K was offered Jolka Hojda’s role, and few friends agreeded to dance in the background. (Un)fortunately, the plans has crashed as Michael F. Petersen didn’t have the time to direct it and on the day of the shoot, the wheather got so bad, that the whole beach sunk under water. And besides, the main failure was Dominion and Gambeat’s vocals -- very very embarrassing…
32. What happened on 04.09.96?
After the WGS thing, Dominion and Gambeat were a bit depressed, so they even got lost when set on a search for a second hand analog synthesizer.
33. What is IHS DMNC about?
On a windy afternoon of 9th of October, Dominion and Lady K formed an unique multimedial project of that name. Dominion -- who for this project changed his moniker to Lord D -- was seriously getting into religion and architecture, when met Lady K (see question 26). Together they’ve comed to terms of making usage of their knowledge (Lady K’s latin and life, Lord D’s english, architecture and music) in order to exploit music and other mediums. Lady K was featured on the first IHS DMNC musical release, and they also plan to do a photographic session, ambient album and write a book (of unknown contence at this time). As a member of IHS DMNC, Lady K will also act as CMC 9717′s manager -- something she is interested in.
34. What happened on 17.03.96?
Dominion remixed WMS’s track „Czy pamietasz te dni?”. Appareantly, it convinced Marek Hojda to include more variable versions on his singles…
35. What was CMC 9717 rave ad shoot?
Dominion and Gambeat wanted to throw a party in February’97 to celebrate their 20th anniversaries. Unfortunatly, it never happened, but before that, they did a photo session for the accompanying posters. Originally they wanted to find a big blank white wall, but because there was none in the area they were looking, they decided to use anything which works as a background. The plan was to replace it on a computer with some futuristic rave landscape and add thunders and lasers. Now, it stays stored in their
archive and awaits future usage…
36. What was 20th Anniversary Rave?
Also known as Tranceptal Grave -- it was a party they wanted to have at Elektoralna (see question 11). The plan was to play a two hour set with Dominion djing for another hour. They wanted to use lasers, strobes, smoke machines and other fxs (including Air Horn). But, as stated in previous question, it never happened, mainly because of Trans’97…
37. What was Trans’97?
At the end of 1996, Jacek Bukowski (see question 23) suggested to them to play live at Lowicka. So, our boys felt it was their time, found the proper name and came up with the flyers which they have later distributed on the streets. The whole thing happended on a friday evening (03.01.97). Unfortunatley, there were only 20 people who attended it (another 30 came later), and they’ve definitely felt as conmen while standing behind the equipment and spinning the pre-recorded and pre-programmed tracks. The 45 minute recording of this event is yet to be released.
38. What happened on 28.01.97?
Gambeat formed Grave Washers -- a computer group, aimed in making funny games. Among various members, Dominion is set to provide the music. On that very day, they went to Adrian Chmielarz -- owner of Metropolis, a company which specializes in making crap computer games. Unfortunatly, beside empty discussion on Gaurad filtering, nothing happened, so the boys are looking for another sponsor…
39. What happened on 10.02.97?
Dominion bought a hifi sampler -- from that time forward: NO MORE hisssss…
40. What happened on 15.02.97?
CMC9717 traced Mr.Hojda buying dodgy bootleg CDs. Now, watcha!
41. What happened on 27.03.97?
Finally, after 20 years, Dominion and Gambeat went to see Star Wars in full 4:3 panoramic vision (only to be forced to listen to BOSE shitprocessor). By the way: Mos Eisley sucks…
